Beginning River Trip
Beginning River Courses take place on the Klickitat River and are designed for people with low to no river experience. This class is perfect for people who have pool experience and feel ready for the next step. This course is also good for students who are working on their combat roll or basic river running skills.
To prepare students for their first river experience, the class starts with a safety talk that covers procedures and communication on the river. Then we will paddle through exciting but manageable class two rapids, giving students the opportunity to practice reading white water. Slow moving pools separate rapids so students can practice their roll in the river. Students will learn the eddy turn, peel out, and ferry. This class will teach students to kayak safely and will start them on their way to being a self-sufficient Class II kayaker.

Cost: $90 group lessons, $125 private.
Time: 10 am - 3:30 pm Sunday, or you can contact us to set up a midweek trip.
