Whether you are a novice to kayaking or an experienced adventurer, we have something for everyone at the Gorge Paddling Center. Our kayak and paddleboard rental site on the Hood River waterfront offers safe and easy access to the scenic Columbia River Gorge.

Because of this our site is great for all ages and ability levels. Located within the Nichols Boat basin, our launch site is protected from the river current and possible winds of the Columbia River.

For kayakers and paddleboarders looking for a more extreme adventure, we are located just a short Kayak or Paddleboard away from the open waters of the Columbia River where many enjoy the 1 mile journey to Wells Island.

FUN FOR ALL AGES!

We had a group from age 5 to 80 and all had fun. The calm water was great for our group of first-time kayakers. The guides did a great job pointing out so much wildlife and the views were amazing!
